Scheduling & Visits

What should I expect at my initial consultation?

During your initial consultation, our provider will carefully review and discuss your medical history and perform any necessary physical exams. If you are a good candidate for our services, our provider will discuss the necessary lab tests and schedule your follow-up appointments.

The initial consultation is US$100, If you received a voucher, you may use this to cover your initial consultation. Standard office visits at US$180 thereafter.

We do not offer virtual visits at this time.

Patients have unlimited phone and email access with our Advanced Practice Wellness team. However, if a question or request is deemed by one of our staff members to be too complicated or involved to respond to, they may, at their discretion, require that the patient schedule an in-person visit at an additional cost if not covered by your membership.

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy for all appointments with an Advanced Practice Wellness Clinic provider, health coach, or team member. Canceling within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment will result in a 100% charge to the credit card on file for the original visit fee.

No-shows: If you do not show up to an in-person appointment, you will be charged 100% of the original visit fee to the card on file.

Billing & Insurance

We Are Not A Conventional Primary Care Physician

For many of our patients, we can serve as a primary care physician. We operate on a membership model. Members can message us online during business hours; we are often able to take care of acute requests. For example, prescribing an antibiotic for a minor infection such as a sinus infection.

It is important to note the following, however:

  • We do not fulfill an insurance company’s requirement for an in-network primary care physician as we are not in-network with any insurance plan.
  • We will make every effort to make you fully aware of any additional clinic or lab fees that may be incurred and to give you the opportunity to choose which lab tests you feel comfortable paying for.
  • We do not have a 24-hour answering service and do not take calls on weekends. If you need to be seen urgently or have a medical emergency, you would need to visit an ER or urgent care center.

Any services provided by Advanced Practice Wellness Clinic that aren’t included in the program fee will be billed directly to patients and are due at the time of service.

Advanced Practice Wellness Clinic is not in-network with any insurance plans. All services are self-pay, including medical expenses such as office visits, required lab tests, and some prescription medications. However, some prescription medications may be covered by a patient’s health insurance plan (per that plan’s rules).

Advanced Practice Wellness Clinic will not submit a medical claim to insurance on your behalf. We cannot assist you with claim resolution for our services.

We will provide you with a detailed billing summary or Superbill that you may submit to your private commercial insurance for reimbursement. Patients with any form of government insurance (VA, Medicare, Medicaid) cannot submit claims from our office. There may be procedures or lab tests that are not covered depending on your plan’s rules.

  • Most lab tests ordered by Advanced Practice Wellness Clinic are self-pay, but some may be ordered by an outside lab service and submitted to your insurance.
  • Some lab tests we offer as part of our functional/Hormone/Weight Management medicine testing program are not covered by insurance, and in these cases, you will be charged a fee for the specific test or lab panel by Advanced Practice Wellness Clinic.
  • The specific tests ordered will be personalized to you based on your initial evaluation with our provider and may include blood, saliva, urine, or stool testing.
  • We will make every effort to ensure you are fully aware of any additional lab fees that may be incurred and to give you the opportunity to decide whether to proceed with testing.
  • You are under no obligation to purchase any specialty testing. However, this will affect the services we can offer you.
  • Should any lab results indicate you may need further testing, you may be referred to your primary care physician or a relevant specialist, or should you choose, you may continue to work with your Advanced Practice Wellness Clinic provider if no other primary care provider exists.
  • At-home test kits: If a lab test kit is mailed to you by Advanced Practice Wellness Clinic, you will be charged the day the kit is ordered.
