This Federally Mandated Urine Drug Test (5‐Panel) is regulated by the government – specifically the DOT or Department of Transportation. Anyone who conducts a job that impacts their safety or those of others are considered to be ‘safety-sensitive’ employees and are subjected to testing.  The test determines the presence or absence of 5 types of drugs or their metabolites, along with expanded opiates, in urine.   This test is a laboratory-based test and includes a screen, confirmation, and the review of a medical officer.

TEST DETAILS

This Urine Drug Test (5‐Panel) checks for the presence of 5 drug metabolites including:

  1. Amphetamine/Methamphetamines
  2. Marijuana
  3. Cocaine
  4. *Opioids (now expanded)
  5. Phencyclidine

Federally Mandated Expanded Opioids Include: Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Heroin (6-AM), Oxymorphone, Hydromorphone, Codeine, and Morphine

IS A DOCTOR’S ORDER REQUIRED?
No. You do not need to provide a doctor’s order to get lab testing done at Advanced Practice Clinic.
WHEN WILL I GET MY TEST RESULTS?
When the drug screen is performed in the laboratory, the drug screen results take 24 to 48 business hours after specimen collection. If the drug screen is non-negative, the result and specimen will then need to be confirmed. Confirmation and MRO (medical review) can take an additional 48 to 72 business hours after the screen is completed.
