SALIVA ADRENAL TESTING KIT

This kit tests the adrenal hormones DHEA-S and Cortisol, the master stress hormone. When individuals experience continuous stress, not only from emotional stressors (e.g., marital, financial, and occupational) but also from physical stressors (e.g., sleep deprivation, caffeine consumption, pain, extreme exercise), it can lead to changes in adrenal hormone levels, related to disorders ranging from anxiety to allergies and irritability to infertility.

TEST DETAILS

The Adrenal Stress Take Home Hormone Kit test includes:

  • DHEA-S (DS)
  • Diurnal Cortisol (Cx4)

The Adrenal Stress Take Home Hormone Kit consists of a saliva test with 4 tubes, 1 large and 3 small, in the kit. The large tube is for collection of DHEA and morning cortisol. The three smaller tubes are for noon, evening and bedtime collection of cortisol samples.

The test measures bioavailable (active) hormone levels for those with unexplained anxiety, irritability, fatigue, sugar cravings, decreased energy, strength, stamina etc.

AM I REQUIRED TO FAST?
No, fasting is NOT required prior to collection of DHEAs and Cortisol hormones. NOTE: collect samples at least 2 hours apart from food, e.g., morning collection before eating or drinking, noon collection before lunch, evening collection before dinner, and last collection at bedtime.
IS A DOCTOR’S ORDER REQUIRED?
No. You do not need to provide a doctor’s order to get lab testing done at Advanced Practice Clinic.
WHEN WILL I GET MY TEST RESULTS?
Test results generally take between 3 to 5 business days after your specimen is received at the laboratory.
DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
No. You can walk in for same day testing. We make it easy for you by offering work-friendly hours.
